SLU-PP-332 Dosage, half-life & reference guide

Also known as SLU PP 332 · SLUPP332 · SLU-PP332

An experimental "exercise mimetic": a small molecule (not a peptide) from a St. Louis-based academic team that switches on the ERR receptors behind mitochondria and endurance. In mice it lengthened treadmill runs by about 70% and cut fat gain without changing food intake, but it has never been tested in people, and its developers report it lacks oral bioavailability, so what a capsule delivers is unknown.

SLU-PP-332 dose guide

How it works.

Synthetic small molecule (not a peptide) that switches on the estrogen-related receptors ERRα, ERRβ and ERRγ, most strongly ERRα. These receptors run the genes behind mitochondria, fat burning and endurance in muscle, so in mice it mimics parts of aerobic training: more oxidative muscle fibers, more energy expenditure and longer treadmill runs. Despite the name, ERRs don't bind estrogen. All of its research is in mice and cells; it has never been given to people in a study, and its own developers report that it lacks oral bioavailability.

Commonly reported: Some users describe cardio feeling easier, without getting as gassed; others notice nothing.

  1. Day 1–14Animal

    Week one: an honest baseline

Commonly reported: some users notice cardio feeling easier within a week or two; many notice nothing. In mice, a week of twice-daily injections was enough to lengthen treadmill runs. How your usual session feels now is the baseline to compare with.

    The science

Billon 2023 (ACS Chem Biol): sedentary mice given 50 mg/kg twice daily by injection for 7 days ran about 70% longer and 45% further than untreated mice; after 2 weeks their grip strength rose too, and their muscles shifted toward oxidative type IIa fibers. No study has tested it in people, by mouth or otherwise.

  2. Day 15–56Animal

    How it burns fat

Switching on ERRs makes muscle burn more fat, the way aerobic training does. In obese mice it raised energy expenditure and fat burning and cut fat gain without changing what they ate. No study has measured this in people.

    The science

Billon 2024 (JPET): in diet-induced obese and ob/ob mice, SLU-PP-332 raised energy expenditure and fatty-acid oxidation, reduced fat-mass accumulation and improved insulin sensitivity. A 2023 University of Florida news release on the work said obese mice treated twice daily for a month gained 10 times less fat and lost 12% of their body weight while eating the same amount.

  3. Any dayAnimal

    What SLU-PP-332 is built on

Mouse and cell studies since 2023, nearly all from one research group and its collaborators: endurance, obesity, heart failure and kidney aging in mice. It has never been given to people in a study, its developers say it lacks oral bioavailability, and the mouse work used injections. It is an untested research chemical.

    The science

Developed as a pan-ERR agonist, most potent at ERRα (Billon 2023). The same group's 2026 paper says SLU-PP-332 lacks oral bioavailability and introduces an orally active successor, SLU-PP-915 (Billon 2026). The mice got 50 mg/kg twice daily by injection; scaled to a 60 kg adult by body surface area (FDA 2005), that is about 240 mg per dose, so community capsules of 250 to 1,000 mcg a day are roughly 500 to 2,000 times lower, by mouth. In muscle cells from inactive women, it raised mitochondrial and antioxidant markers and helped the cells form muscle fibers in a dish (Bonanni 2025). Doping-control labs have mapped its metabolites in human liver preparations (Avliyakulov 2026; Möller 2026).

  4. With MOTS-c and SS-31Community

Why people pair it with MOTS-c and SS-31

A common community stack aims at mitochondria from three sides: SLU-PP-332 at the ERR receptors, MOTS-c at the AMPK exercise pathway, SS-31 at the inner mitochondrial membrane. With three compounds started together, there is no telling which one did what. Commonly reported: better endurance, credited to the stack as a whole.

    The science

Each piece rests on animal or early data for these uses: SLU-PP-332 lengthened runs in mice (Billon 2023), MOTS-c raised physical capacity in mice of all ages (Reynolds 2021), and SS-31 binds cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane (Szeto 2014). No study has combined them.

After week 8

  1. Day 57–84Animal

Weeks 8 to 12: where community runs pause

Community runs commonly last about 8 weeks, then pause for about 4; that is convention, not evidence. The longest published treatment ran 8 weeks, in old mice, and no study has followed it in people at all.

    The science

Wang 2023 (Am J Pathol): 21-month-old mice treated for 8 weeks showed reversal of age-related kidney changes (albumin in urine, podocyte loss, mitochondrial dysfunction, inflammation). Xu 2024 (Circulation): pan-ERR agonists including SLU-PP-332 improved heart function and survival in mice with pressure-overload heart failure. Neither was designed as a safety study.

Safety.

Common side effects

  • No human safety data
  • Unknown long-term effects

Interactions

No interaction data exist. In human liver enzyme preparations it is broken down into many metabolites (doping-control studies), but which enzymes do it, and what that means alongside other medicines, hasn't been studied. Running it with other metabolic compounds (GLP-1 drugs, MOTS-c, 5-Amino-1MQ) is untested. Discuss all your medicines with your clinician.

Safety notes

There is no human safety data: SLU-PP-332 has never been given to people in a published study, so its effects in people, short or long term, are unknown. In mice, 10 days at 50 mg/kg twice daily by injection caused no overt toxicity, with normal blood counts, electrolytes and muscle enzymes. It is sold as a research chemical, so purity, dose and contents aren't regulated, and anti-doping labs are building tests for it: as a compound with no approval for human use, it falls under the World Anti-Doping Agency's ban on non-approved substances (S0), in force at all times. Discuss with your clinician.
