A peptide encoded by your mitochondrial DNA — the ancient energy-producing organelles inside every cell. MOTS-c activates AMPK (the same pathway triggered by exercise) to improve how your body processes energy, boosts insulin sensitivity, and enhances exercise capacity. Sometimes called an "exercise mimetic" because it partially replicates the metabolic benefits of working out.

Safety & interactions
MOTS-c is a mitochondrial-derived peptide regulating glucose and metabolic homeostasis; animal toxicology has been favorable at studied doses and limited human exposure suggests good tolerability, but it has not been formally established as safe in humans (a Phase 2a prediabetes/obesity trial is underway). Community-reported effects include transient fatigue (often in the first 1-3 weeks), mild injection-site reactions, and occasional GI upset or palpitations. Because it influences glucose metabolism, glucose-relevant monitoring is a reasonable topic for your clinician. Long-term human safety is unknown.
