# Peptide dose & unit converter

Convert a peptide dose between micrograms (mcg), milligrams (mg), and IU — and see which unit each kind of compound is measured in.

Your amount

Example numbers

250 mcg equals 0.25 mg, or 0.75 IU for HGH only.

The same amount

250 mcg

= 0.25 mg

- **IU · HGH only:** 0.75 IU

1 mg = 1,000 mcg. The IU figure applies **only** to HGH (somatropin), where the WHO standard is ~3 IU per mg — it is not valid for other peptides, which are dosed by mass.

## Which unit does my peptide use?

Most research peptides are dosed in **micrograms (mcg)** or **milligrams (mg)** — BPC-157, TB-500, GHK-Cu, and the GH secretagogues (ipamorelin, CJC-1295) are all measured by mass. GLP-1 compounds like semaglutide and tirzepatide are dosed in **mg**.

**IU (international units)** only applies to HGH, where potency historically came from a biological standard rather than mass. For everything else, ignore IU.

The fourth number people confuse — **units on a syringe** — isn't a dose at all; it's a *volume* mark that depends on how you reconstituted the vial. To turn a dose into the units you draw, use the [reconstitution calculator](https://pepvault.app/tools/reconstitution-calculator).

Example: 250 mcg is 0.25 mg, and for HGH only, 0.25 mg is 0.75 IU.
