# Hexarelin Dosage, half-life & reference guide

Also known as Examorelin

One of the most powerful GH secretagogues, with a catch: the response fades. Hexarelin gives some of the largest GH spikes, but with daily use the response drops partly over weeks and recovers after a break.

- **Studied range:** 100–200 mcg
- **How often:** 2–3× daily
- **Half-life:** ~55–70 min
- **Evidence:** Moderate
- **Route:** SubQ injection

Studied in research — not a recommendation.

## How it works.

One of the most potent GHRPs (on par with GHRP-2 in humans). Strongly stimulates GH release, and in rat studies it protected heart muscle independently of GH. The GH response fades partly within weeks of ongoing use and recovers after a break — cycle carefully.

**Commonly reported:** A strong effect at first, flushing or a head rush after injecting, and water retention with some hunger (less than GHRP-6). In rats it also protected the heart through a pathway independent of GH.

### Half-life & active level

The half-life of Hexarelin is ~55–70 min (community estimate; not measured in people: in rats it lasted ~76 minutes, in dogs ~2 hours).

Here's how a typical Hexarelin schedule plays out over 48 hours (one-compartment estimate).

An estimate from the half-life above, not a measurement. See your own curve build live in [the half-life calculator](https://pepvault.app/tools/peptide-half-life-calculator).

## Where Hexarelin works.

- ### Heart & blood vessels

**In people.** In rats it protected heart muscle through a pathway independent of GH, and single doses raised heart pumping in small human studies.
- ### Muscle

**Reported by users.** Commonly reported: Hexarelin hits as hard as any secretagogue, with a strong recovery signal.

## Week by week.

What to expect in the first 8 weeks

1. Day 1–7 Community

   ### A strong GH pulse from week one

Commonly reported: Hexarelin hits as hard as any secretagogue, with a strong recovery signal, flushing or a head rush after injecting, and a distinct "something changed" feel in the first week. Don't expect deeper sleep: in the one sleep-lab study it reduced deep sleep. Keep the dose conservative; bigger isn't better with this one.

   The science

Hexarelin is among the most potent GHRPs for peak GH release, similar to GHRP-2 in men (Arvat 1997). Nightly doses reduced deep (stage 4) sleep in young men (Frieboes 2004). It also binds heart receptors, including CD36; it protected rat hearts in ischemia models independently of GH (Locatelli 1999) and acutely raised heart pumping in small human studies (Broglio 2002).

2. Day 7–28 Clinical

   ### Productive window — but watch the clock

Commonly reported: the peak productive phase, with recovery and body-composition signals firing. This is also when the GH response starts to fade — if effects feel softer by the end of this window, it's not your imagination.

   The science

With twice-daily dosing in older adults, the GH response dropped about a third within 1–4 weeks, then plateaued, and recovered after 4 weeks off (Rahim 1998). Cortisol and prolactin rise after a dose, though 16 weeks of use didn't raise either (Rahim 1999). Some users split lower doses to slow the fade.

3. Day 28–42 Clinical

   ### Time to cycle off

You're at the end of the usual community cycle. In the one long study, the GH response had dropped by about a third by this point, even for people who didn't feel it. Community practice is a 4+ week break here; in that study, the response recovered after 4 weeks off.

   The science

In older adults dosing twice daily, the GH response fell about 31% by week 1 and 45% by week 16, then recovered after 4 weeks off (Rahim 1998). In aged rats, by contrast, 30–60 days of hexarelin kept the GH response intact (Cattaneo 1997). Unlike Ipamorelin, Hexarelin is usually run in short cycles.

   ### What Hexarelin is built on

Hexarelin has small human studies on GH release and some of the most interesting heart findings of any GH peptide: in rats it protected heart muscle through a pathway independent of GH, and single doses raised heart pumping in small human studies. The short-cycle habit comes from its fading GH response.

   The science

Phase 1/2 data on GH release is published (Imbimbo 1994). Separately, Hexarelin binds heart receptors (GHS-R1a and CD36) and reduced ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats (Locatelli 1999); in humans, single IV doses raised heart pumping (Bisi 1999; Broglio 2002), though not in dilated cardiomyopathy (Imazio 2002). It never advanced to late-phase development; no reason was published, and chronic use had minimal effect on IGF-1 and body composition (Rahim 1998).

## Mixing and a typical run.

Example numbers

### Reconstitution example

Reconstitute a 5 mg vial of Hexarelin with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water and a 150 mcg dose is 6 units on a U-100 syringe, about 33 doses per vial.

- **Vial:** 5 mg
- **Water:** 2 mL
- **Amount:** 150 mcg

### Run notes

- **Cycle:** Community protocols keep cycles short (4–6 weeks) because the GH response fades partly with ongoing use; in a 16-week study it recovered after 4 weeks off. Always cycle off. Community practice — opinions vary. Not a clinical recommendation.
- **Timing:** Fasted injection. 2–3x daily max. Watch for desensitisation signs.
- **Route:** SubQ injection
- **Stacks:** CJC-1295 no DAC, BPC-157
